  • 2.     3rd Shot Drop Shot, 3,3,3.  This drill will have each player practice from 3 positions, the back of the court, mid court, and the kitchen line, always attempting to accomplish the 3rd Shot drop shot, landing the ball from each position in the kitchen.  (15 minutes)
  • 3.     The Block Drill, or Punch volley.  This drill is practiced just inside the kitchen line, volleying the ball back and forth with the player across from you.  Then, this drill is continued just outside the kitchen line, which shows you how much more time you have to react to a volley.
  • Which ties into
  • The Fireball Drill or Blocking Slam Shots.  One person serves and the blocker is at the NVZ.  They will serve at least 5 balls alternating with partner, then will change sides for the opposing players to practice the same.   (15minutes)
